Rancho La Escondida is in the Municipality of Zaragoza, Coahuila, México, occupying 35,000 acres in the Burro Mountains of the north central area of the state. It is located 90 miles north of the town of Múzquiz, 70 air miles east of the Big Bend of the Rio Grande and 60 air miles southwest of Del Rio, Texas.
Access to the ranch is through private property and restricted by locked gates. A ranch representative will accompany any guests travelling to the ranch overland. A sturdy all terrain type vehicle is necessary.
Driving time from the border (Del Rio or Eagle Pass, Texas) via Múzquiz, is approximately eight hours. However, small aircraft (single engine) charters are available from the Mexican border towns of Cd. Acuña (across from Del Rio) and Piedras Negras (across from Eagle Pass). These flights take about 40 minutes from Cd. Acuña and about 55 minutes from Piedras Negras. Voice communications to the ranch are limited to two-way radio to our office in Sabinas, Coahuila, from where messages may be relayed elsewhere by telephone or FAX.
